3: [sc, inc] x3. (9)
4: [2 sc, inc] x3. (12)
5: [sc, inc] x6. (18)
6: [2 sc, inc] x6. (24)
7: [2 sc, dec] x6. (18)
8: [sc, dec] x6. (12)
Flatten the ear and sc both sides together. (6)
Fold the ear in half and sc both sides together. (3)
Fasten off, leaving a medium length tail. We will work the ears into the head later.
Feet (Make 2)
In body color:
1: MR, 8 sc. (8)
2: [inc] x8. (16)
3: [sc, inc] x8. (24)
4: 8 sc, [bbl, sc] x4, 8 sc. (24)
5: Sc around. (24)
6: 8 sc, [dec] x4, 8 sc. (20)
7: 6 sc, [dec] x4, 6 sc. (16)
8: Dec, 12 sc, dec. (14)
*If you would like to have long legs, follow these extra instructions. Stuff the foot before continuing. Stuff the leg.
9-22: Sc around. (14)
Finish off, leaving a long tail for sewing and stuff the foot firmly.
Arms (Make 2)
In body color:
1: MR, sc 6. (6)
2: [inc] x6. (12)
3: [sc, inc] x6. (18)
4: Sc around. (18)
5: 8 sc, bbl, 9 sc. (18)
6: [sc, dec] x6. (12)
Stuff the hand firmly.
7-11: ~5 rounds~ sc around. (12)
*If you would like to have longer arms, repeat round 7 for 14 rounds instead of 5, which would be rounds 7-20. Follow the rest of the directions as normal.
Do not stuff the arm. You may need to add 1-2 sc to get to the side of the arm. Your thumb should be aligned with the side of the arm so it sticks up when sewing it to the body.
Flatten the arm and sc across to close. (6) Finish off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Head/Body
In body color:
1: MR, 6 sc. (6)
2: [inc] x6. (12)
3: [Sc, inc] x6. (18)
4: [2 sc, inc] x6. (24)
5: [3 sc, inc] x6. (30)
6: [4 sc, inc] x6. (36)
7: [5 sc, inc] x6. (42)
8-11: ~4 rounds~ Sc around. (42)
*In this next round, keep in mind your first st is at the back of the head. When working the ear and head together, make sure the concave part of the ears are facing the front.
12: 8 sc, 3 sc through both loops of the ear and blo of the head, 20 sc, 3 sc through both loops of the ear and blo of the head, 8 sc. (42)
*You can now use the tail from the ear to sew the ears to the side of the head, so they stay upright. Or you can choose to leave them a little floppy.
Sew half way up the ears leaving the other half to point straight up.
13: [6 sc, inc] x6. (48)
14: 12 sc, [ch 6, slst in second ch from hook, sc, 2 hdc, sc, slst in same st as last sc made in the head], 25 sc, repeat instructions in brackets, 11 sc. (48)
*If you are using thicker yarn such as blanket or plush yarn, you may need to shift by 1-2 stitches. The whiskers should be directly under the ears. Ending stitch count remains the same.
*Make sure you work around the whiskers from the last round
15: [6 sc, dec] x6. (42)
16: 5 sc, dec, 5 sc, [ch 5, slst in second ch from hook, 3 sc, slst in same st as last sc made on the head], dec, [5 sc, dec] x2, 5 sc, repeat instructions in the first set of brackets, dec, 5 sc, dec. (36)
*If you are using thicker yarn such as blanket or plush yarn, you may need to shift by 1-2 stitches. The whiskers should be one stitch in front of the previous whisker. This may be a little tricky as this is a decreasing round.
Just keep in mind the sequence is [5 sc, dec]. So if you have to shift your stitches, I.e; it states 5 sc [whisker], but you need to add a stitch, you will simply sc 5, decrease then create the whisker.
17: [4 sc, dec] x6. (30)
*Place and secure eyes between rounds 11-12, 4-5 sts apart.
18: [3 sc, dec] x6. (24)
Stuff the head firmly.
19: [2 sc, dec] x6. (18)
20: Sc around. (18)
21: [2 sc, inc] x6. (24)
*If you would like to save yourself some sewing later, and want the arms to point straight down on each side of the body, you can follow these instructions for rnd 22 then proceed to rnd 23. If not, follow the instructions for rnd 22 as normal.
Make sure the thumbs are pointing forward. Follow the same instructions for working the ears into the head when connecting the arms.
You may need to adjust by 1-2 stitches before or after adding the arms to ensure they are on the sides of the body.
Alt 22: 5 sc, 6 sc through arm and body, 7 sc, 6 sc through arm and body. (24)
22: Sc around. (24)
23: [3 sc, inc] x6. (30)
24-25: ~2 rounds~ sc around. (30) 26: [4 sc, inc] x6. (36)
27-28: ~2 rounds~ sc around. (36) 29: [5 sc, inc] x6. (42)
30: [6 sc, inc] x6. (48)
Stuff the body and continue stuffing as you close up.
31: [6 sc, dec] x6. (42)
32: [5 sc, dec] x6. (36)
33: [4 sc, dec] x6. (30)
34: [3 sc, dec] x6. (24)
35: [2 sc, dec] x6. (18)
36: [sc, dec] x6. (12)
Finish off and close up the hole.
Weave in your end.
Tail
In star color:
You can use a lighter weight yarn for the star if you would like.
1: MR, 6 sc. (6)
2: [inc] x6. (12)
3: [{sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc} in next st, slst] x3, slst, {sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc} in next st, 2 slst, repeat instructions in brackets once more. (32)
Finish off and create another star, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Line up the two stars and sew them together with the tail on the second star. *Make sure the “right sides” of your stars are facing out when sewing together.
In body color:
Start off with a long tail for sewing.
1: Ch 18, join to form a ring, sc in each ch. (18)
2: [sc, dec] x6. (12)
3-5: ~3 rounds~ sc around. (12)
6: [sc, dec] x4. (8)
7: Sc around. (8)
Do not close up, finish off leaving a medium length tail for sewing the star on.
Stuff the tail firmly and sew on to the back side over rounds 29-24.
Sew the tail in between 2 points of the star.
Star Horns
Insert your hook through round 6 of the head, to the right and attach the color used for your star
Ch 1, slst into the next st, {dc, ch 3, slst into first ch, dc} in next st, 2 slst.
Now insert your hook in round 2 of the head, to the left and repeat the instructions.
Finish off and weave in the ends.
Crown of Royalty
Pull up a loop of gold, or whatever color you choose, directly in the middle of the back of the head on round 8.
Ch 9, slst in the stitch right above the first ear, ch 6, slst 3 rounds above the first eye,
ch 3, slst 3 rounds down at a diagonal in between the eyes, ch 3, slst 3 rounds above the second eye (this creates a V shape in between the eyes),
ch 6, slst in the stitch right above the second ear, ch 9 and connect with a slst in the first ch you made at the back of the head.
Assembly
Feet- You can choose to sew the feet on the
bottom of the body in a standing position or
on the front in a sitting position. Pin in place
before sewing to ensure they stay where
you want them.
Standing: Position the feet over rounds
32-29. The feet should be sewn 2 sts apart.
Sitting: Position the feet over rounds 29-25
at the front of the body, approximately 8 sts
apart.
Arms: Sew the arms at a downward angle
on the sides of the body, right below the
head.
